Dog lovers that have allergies may find it difficult to find a pet. But the good news is that people with allergies may still be able to enjoy being a parent to a pet. All you have to do is to find a breed that will not trigger your allergies.  The key is to choose a hypoallergenic dog breed that won’t shed too much hair or dander. You can opt to choose a non-shedding dog as your pet, making them a great choice for those who have allergies.

What many people don’t know is that there are actually dogs that don’t shed that much and are hypoallergenic, making them compatible with those who have allergies. You can also consider small or medium-sized breeds if you are suffering from mild allergies. But what are these dog breeds? If you are suffering from allergies, below are some dogs you might want to consider getting if you really want your own pet:

1. SCHNAUZER

Getting rid of lessening dander or shedding of dogs is vital when it comes to making the environment friendly for those who suffer from allergies. To maintain your home environment, you can vacuum your carpets, flooring, and all other areas of your home regularly to lower the presence of allergens. You can also replace your rugs with tiles or other types of flooring that won’t trap pet hair. The schnauzer is a breed that you can consider having as your pet. They shed less hair and produce a smaller amount of dander compared to other breeds. This will make your cleaning or vacuuming easier and will keep you and others away from allergies as well.

2.LABRADOODLE AND BICHON FRISE

Dog breeds like the labradoodle and Bichon Frise are also recommended for people who are suffering from allergies because their hair is easy to maintain. The hair of Labradoodles doesn’t get a lot of outdoor allergens compared to other breeds. The Bichon Frise, on the other hand, creates a small amount of dander. It is a hypoallergenic dog. They have soft coats that are curled. This means that dead hair stays in their place until it is brushed out.

3. BASENJI

The Basenji is another good choice for people who have allergies. This pup grooms itself, and it also sheds less compared to other dogs. This means that it won’t bring harm to those people who have sensitive immune systems.

4. HAIRLESS CHINESE CRESTED

The reason why this breed is a perfect match is pretty self-explanatory. The Hairless Chinese Crested produces less hair. This means that those who want to take a dog as their pet will have a lesser chance of getting an allergic reaction to it. Because this type of breed doesn’t have little to no hair at all, it means that it doesn’t shed that much.

5. KERRY BLUE TERRIER

Compared to dogs that shed daily, the Kerry Blue Terrier only sheds every three weeks. This can help those who have sensitive immune systems or allergy sufferers to have more control of their environment. This type of breed also doesn’t shed that much because they have wavy and curly coats.
